I know this is posted elsewhere, but it never has updated information so I will keep it up to date here

Very neat and I recommend you guys try it out! It may very well Favor over WM6 in the future
Right now it is just a Program you run off of your device. Soft-Reset to exit. It can be installed from the storage card. Will be an actual OS in the near future.
I wouldnt attempt to try the new release quite yet till the bugs are smoothed out.
A little late on this update

Android Market Written by Eddie Monge

Finally developer's will have a way to make money off of Android. It's not ready yet, and won't be until sometime after launch (that's slightly funny to me), but today Google officially announced their answer to the Apple store for the iPhone. They are creating the Android Market which will be the standard way to find and install apps on your Android powered device.
Techcrunch a bit late on the FCC G1 approval Written by Eddie Monge

Techrcunch is reporting the Tmobile G1 phone that has been on the FCC site for a few days now. While normally, Techcrunch is on top of these things, this posting comes a bit late. But if its on Techcrunch, you cn bet its going to get lots more exposure now.
Android on the Diamond? You can help! Written by Eddie Monge
Thursday, 21 August 2008 08:19
So with all the talk about the Diamond being released quite possibly in September, I know a lot of people have been asking if someone is going to port Android over to it. Well, if I can get enough money raised to buy an extra one, I'll send it to Martin for him to play with and get Android working on.
So for all of you that want Android on the Diamond, donate now and this will get done a lot sooner. I'll keep this post updated with anyone who contributes to the cause. I will start this off myself.

Android .9 Beta SDK Port Tuesday, 19 August 2008 13:29
This is just an early look at Martin's new port. A lot of things don't work at the moment so I haven't created an easy installer yet. Unzip everything in the file to the root of a SD card (note: SDHC cards are still reporting problems)
**** Updated 08/19/2008 at 2:24PM PDT *****New SDK, Roadmap and misc goodies
Tuesday, 19 August 2008 13:07
So its seems that the big news is that Google finally listened to my advice (which I have been spamming anywhere on the web where the word Android appears) and have given us some new stuff.
So the bggest news of course, has to be the new SDK. There are a number of things going on with it. First of all, its been given a BETA tag, which means we are nearing a final release. Being beta now is huge. It means Google is saying this is pretty close to what the final version will look like. Of course there could be some major changes but this, I believe, is a huge step forward. Second part, is that it now has a.9 denomination meaning we will be able to tell easily what version we are working with.
Another thing Google has release is a roadmap of Android. Among some of the things in there is a pre-release candiate launch in September, followed by handset by the end of the year.
Thank you Google for finally taking my advice. Now just keep up the good work and communication that you have started this week and I will try and keep the masses informed as well.
Stay tuned and check back here often as I continue to post new information regarding Google's much anticipated Android platform.

Update on July 27, 2008:As it seems the latest installer isn't working for most people, including me, I have reverted the main download link back to the original installer while I work out the bugs for the new installer that supports SD cards. I have left the new installer for anyone that wants to help me out with this task

Update on July 25, 2008:This includes the changes to get the card to save data, including contacts, and also be able to install programs.
Includes few tweaks.
***This does not work with my Kingston Class 6 4Gb SDHC card. Please tell me if it works with your SDHC card by sending me a message here:

Update(24/7/08): I've repackaged the files in android.zip and updated a few things. Now you don't need to copy 256M to your SD card, just put system.gz and data.gz on the card and the first time it boots they will be extracted to system.img and data.img (thanks to Kevin's initramfs installer for the idea). Keep your data.img if you have saved anything on it and delete system.img to use the new stiff. Audio in calls should be better, vibrate on receiving calls and SMS should work better. When the screen is off only the power button should wake it up. SDHC cards should work better. Volume up and down are not left and right any more because i'm working on audio, they are useful for zooming in the browser too.

Update on July 9, 2008:Changed the shortcut name to Android and added a custom icon

Hi,
I've put a new zImage and initrd-android on the site, there's no big changes here but the sms app works a bit better. I made the notification icon 1 pixel wide so you can have about 6 active notifications before the runtime crashes. Networking should be a bit smoother, I found a problem with the interrupt code that meant the data channel wasn't always being notified by the modem. I have almost got the SD driver working, it goes for a while and then crashes, I'll enable it when it's usable. I've also updated the kernel to the latest android-msm-2.6.25.
