I have been contacted by a member on phonescoop.com that has inquired about my review on the xv6900. He was asking if i could send him a tuturial so to speak of my findings and what i did to optimize for batterylife and what not. I told him send me his email address bc he contacted me through AIM and after putting togather a huge .doc of links and tuturial and where to find the install programs for the unlocker and roms used as well as zipping up some of my fav apps. I noticed he has a verizonwireless.com email account...
This came to me as a shock, could this guy have read my post and work for verizon and trying to stop us unlocking of these phones or just a user like myself at one point wanting a no questions asked tuturial with everything to get him going in the right direction.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My initial thoughts are be suspicious of anyone contacting you with that email addy. I was thinking back to a post on the leaked radio and how it might have been leaked to have it debugged by our community for very cheap.
Did you send him all of the research you did? Ask him his reasons, no reason not to be direct. And when you do get an answer, take your time. Send him to the forums and let him read up on this stuff like we all do. IMHO

If you're with Verizon Wireless and you are receiving e-mails from a xxx@verizonwireless.com email address then you need to ignore that person and block his AIM address. ya i think i have my aim in my sig on phonescoop.com and thats where he got it from. He stated he doesnt work for verzion and hes in between jobs. I didnt send him anything. All he has is my AIM address and I told him to research on ppcgeeks or ppchaven, xda developers.
I understand where hes coming from because when your new your clueless on what to do first and what works and what doesnt. theres tons of reading to do before you are even half way to the point of understanding what is really going on.

Its the safest move. Vz has access to the same info as we do, if he turns out to be with them.

I agree, this guy is very suspicous. i do have a few thoughts...
1. If he is really an undercover verizon worker, why didn't he just use a windows live e-mail? or a gmail? either he isn't smart enough to use a dif address, or he simply made a mistake.
2. If he isn't with verizon anymore, why is he still using that e-mail? id get myself a new e-mail asap.
