I'm thinking about changing out the casing on my vogue. I saw a black one that has a recessed area for an extended-life battery on ebay, and I like that idea. Anybody got any advice? Tools I might need? Warnings? Just wanted to pick some brains. Thanks guys!!

Why not just buy a 5$ SILICON grip cover?
mine was starting to crack on the side and this case has saved it from craking anymore.

I have a hybrid. Black back that came with the extended battery and white face. I like.

I also like the black silicone case.  It also serves as a protective liner in case the phone is dropped (which I have done occasion).

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. I already have a silicone cover, I just like to tinker with my phone and I was thinking how much I would like to swap out the encasement. The extended life battery is what made me really consider doing it. Thanks again!

Another reliable place to purchase OEM parts and accessories is cnn.cn. This website also sells the necessary tools and even has video walkthrus for most disassemblies for most phones... Sadly there is not a vogue video.

On another note... does anyone know if there is a red housing anywhere... I thought that alltel had a red version of the Vogue, but I cannot find stuff for it anywhere.

----- EDIT -----

I found a red housing on ebay as well. Looks like I will forego the purchase of the Diamond for VZW the XV6950 as it really isn't that much of an upgrade.  I will hold out until the Diamond2.

If anyone still has the Vogue anymore... HAHA. I purchased a Maroon/Red Housing from ebay like I said and took my phone apart and everything... It was actually fun.
